Hey, it's such a cool deal you guys are doing. I'm a webdesigner on the coast in Oregon. I found your link posted on mondaymorning9:00AM from england a weelky newsletter that posted your link as they are in the into the same sort of altruism.
I saw your upcoming film for next week and remembered it from TV last year. I am a recovering alcoholic with almost 19 years sobriety (in September on the 13th) and just wanted you guys to know you're doing an awesome job out there.
Life is a lot different now going from laying in a gutter on the streets drinking wine to actually becoming someone who contributes back to society.
A good friend of mine has invested thousands to re-open an alcoholic and drug addiction recovery center in Astoria, Oregon called Serenity By The Sea. I built their website at http://www.serenitybythesea.org.
Serenity sits on a beautiful hilltop overlooking a huge awesome view of the mouth of the columbia river as it protrudes to the pacific ocean.
The history of Serenity By The Sea private treatment center was it's first location was directly on the beach in Seaside, Oregon for 13 years and that it was the first of its kind in Oregon with a program for family involvement from 1982 to 1995 during which time it closed due to illness of its director. During this time over 8,000 patients were treated with a 70% sustained recovery rate. Pretty awesome!
For 20 years I was a house painter (www.weaverpainting.com) in Astoria, Oregon (the oldest American settelment west of the rockie mountains) painting 200 year old coastal homes then through online schooling I learned webdesign.
Anyhow I just wanted you guys to know I appreciate what your doing to contribute to society and thought I would through a plug -in there for Serenity By The Sea including its awsome success rate.
The Director (Michael) knows nothing of this posting concerning Serenity By The Sea, however, could this be a good story to pursue? Or new stories concerning how Americans are contributing to helping resolve societies drug an alcohol problems. The one next week sure will.
What I have learned is that "If Love for your fellowman isn't the answer, well there is no solution!"
Keep up the love!
