I love R1 and would very much like to see some new stories. As for the Question I believe a couple things need to be considered 1 - How important is it to the veiwers understanding of the story and 2 - what lasting imprint if any would it leave on the person that you are helping.
As for number 1, I believe that you need to prescreen your episodes to a limited audience that has no idea what the story is and then ask them what they thought of the way that you told the story and what areas needed some clarification / expanded or even deleted in order to deliver the story to its full potential. As for the second item R1 in telling the story may know additional things about the person that they are helping, some of those items may put the person that you are helping in a good light and some may be skeletons that that person would rather leave buried in the closet.
