Yesterday at lunchtime I found myself in a dilemma. I couldn’t decide what I wanted for lunch because I really wasn't hungry. This led me to think about how grateful I was to have what I do. I mean I’m nowhere near rolling in the dough but my spouse and I both work (very) slightly over minimum wage jobs. We don’t have much but everything we have is ours that we bought and paid for on our own. There may not be money in the bank but the bills get paid and there is always food on the table!! I can very easily remember a time when everyday life was a struggle. Then I got to thinking about all the money that we as a society spend on basically unneeded stuff. Long story short I ended up donating lunch money for the week to an organization here that helps to feed the elderly and I have decided to donate to them the same amount that I spend on my cell phone every month. What really made me smile was when I told a friend about it she said she thought it was and excellent idea and she plans to donate the amount she spends on Internet service every month to them as well!!!!
