I just meet Normand at an AA meeting in Austin and he is here for the SXSW Film Festival - He shared at the meeting what is was like, what happened and what it is like now. What a miracle, you both were put in his life at the exact moment he needed you and in my world that is a God thing.
I agree with you decision to give him a beer as he was physically addicted and withdrawals from alcohol is one of the only withdrawals you can die from - so what a great story and the best part is that it has only just begun.
