I so admire what you guys are doing. The ideas of community and how it should be is so inspring to me. I've been following you since I heard about your show on A&E. If you are ever near Lawrence, KS I'd love to do anything in my power to help you guys out. I'm trying to do my best to help make connections in our community and have found an organization called "Freecycle" (http://www.freecycle.org) has been a great way to get that started. I have a personal story for you guys too, I'm giving a link as it's a long story and I don't want to take up a bunch of space here.
